Growing Artist Trees

Based on Gustav Klimt's Tree of Life series, grade 5 students created these collaborative murals. The golden tree holds their frottage-textured leaves created and glued by students working together. Each student wrote 2 artist's statements which reflect their beliefs about art, their art experiences, or themselves as artists. They chose one of their statements to write along the branch of the tree with pastels in colors of their choice, and added their initials. Together, we grow as artists!
