2019 Egyptian Sarcophagus Designs

2018-19 Grade 7 students studied the art and culture of Ancient Egypt then created these original sarcophagus designs. These life-sized works were accomplished by working successfully on teams, just as Ancient Egyptian artists did centuries ago. They were made on oaktag with sharpie, tempera paints, and faux jewels.

Our Egyptian art experience didn't end in the Art Room! Ms. Cote (F.M.S. Computers) and media club created some special effects with our sarcophagus projects using green screen techniques. Our sarcophagus designs were also a popular attraction at the F.M.S. 2019 Festival of the Arts in May, and in June as part of the "Future Artists" special exhibit featured at the town of Acushnet's Annual Art Week Show at the Acushnet Council on Aging.
