2015 Egyptian Canopic Jars

Grade 6 semester 2 students created these canopic jars, used in ancient Egypt to store and protect the mummy's removed organs. The jar heads depicted the "4 Sons of Horus" and featured protective hieroglyphs. Students created their jars with Model Magic clay, Sharpie, and paint. We also put dried mango inside to represent dried out organs. Yum!
