Great Gargoyles

2017-18 6th grade students studied Medieval era art and architecture, focusing on the tradition of gargoyles: part sculpture, part gutter system of the Middle Ages. Our gargoyles were first designed as sketches based on mystical creatures or combinations of animals, then sculpted by hand from Model Magic clay. After being mounted on wood or cardboard bases, Ms. Daniels sprayed them with stone-finish spray paint (if you try this at home, wear a mask and have an adult assist). Our gargoyles were the hit of the Arts Fest this year!
